The Winnipeg Jets announced Thursday that the club has recalled goaltender Eddie Pasquale from their AHL affiliate, the St. John’s IceCaps.

There has been no announcement as of yet from the Jets on injuries to either starter Ondrej Pavelec or backup Al Montoya.

The 22-year old Pasquale has appeared in 40 contests for the IceCaps this season. During that span, he has posted a 14-21-4 record, accompanied by a 2.69 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.

Last season, Pasquale shined between the pipes for the IceCaps. In 38 contests, he posted a 23-12-1 record, 2.41 goals against average and a .911 save percentage. He was named to the AHL All-Rookie Team and was name IceCaps top rookie. He lead the IceCaps to the Eastern Conference Final, where the club was swept by the eventual Calder Cup Champions, Norfolk Admirals.

With his formidable rookie season, Pasquale became an instant fan favourite in St. John’s as chants of “Eddie, Eddie” followed the IceCaps every home game of the playoffs last season.

Pasquale was drafted in the fourth round, 117th overall in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft by the Atlanta Thrashers. The Toronto, Ontario native was recalled earlier the season on February 13th , but did not appear in any games this season for the Jets.
