The Manchester Monarchs, AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, has signed defenseman Vincent LoVerde to an American Hockey League contract late Wednesday evening.

          Hubie McDonough, Monarchs Dir. Of Hockey Operations has announced that 24 year old LoVerde has been signed by the Manchester Monarchs. The Chicago, IL native spent most of last season with the Monarchs. Before coming to the Monarchs he appeared in 27 games scoring 7 goals and 10 assists for 17 points for the ECHL Ontario Reign in Ontario, CA. After making the 2,983 mile trip cross country to Manchester, NH, Vincent played in 51 regular season games scoring 2 goals and 11 assists for a total of 13 points with a plus/minus of 17. He did appear in 4 playoff games but recorded no points.

          During the 2011-12 season, LoVerde played for the Reign and scored 5 goals and 19 assists with a total of 24 points in 64 games. Before his ECHL debut he played hockey in college for Miami University (Ohio) for 4 years (2007-2011) where Vincent got 36 points in 159 games and appeared in the Frozen Four Men’s Ice Hockey Tournament twice (2009, 2010) and was runner-up in 2009.

        LoVerde will make his home debut on Saturday October 19th at 7:00 pm at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, NH.
