The Manchester Monarchs, AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, will have 14 players heading up to the Granite State on Monday for Monarchs training camp which will be slated to begin on Tuesday, September 24th.

The Los Angeles Kings have trimmed their training camp roster by 15 but 14 are heading to Manchester while 2013 Kings 2nd round draftee Valentin Zykov will be going back to his QMJHL team, Baie Comeau. 4 of the 14 players that were assigned to Manchester are goalie Mathias Niederberger, who was ranked the 3rd best goalie in the OHL last season. Right Winger Cameron Maclise who tallied 83 points in 59 games last season with the AJHL Brooks Bandits, Defenseman Vincent LoVerde and right winger Scott Sabourin who were both with the Monarchs last season.

10 of the 14 players were loaned to Manchester with many players retuning such as goalies J.F Berube and Martin Jones, forwards Andy Andreoff, Jordan Weal, Brian O’Neill, Robert Czarnik and defenseman Nicolas Deslauriers. There are also some new faces coming to training camp like defenseman Colin Miller and Alex Roach and one forward, Maxim Kitsyn. There are still some of last year’s Monarchs out in Los Angeles that still haven’t been assigned or loaned to Manchester like Defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk and Derek Forbort along with forwards Tanner Pearson and Linden Vey but are expected to be with the Monarchs soon. 3 Monarchs have been placed on waivers, Forward Brandon Kozun, Defenseman Andrew Campbell, and 6-year Monarchs veteran and team captain Marc-Andre Cliche. Keep in mind those players on waivers have 24 hours to be claimed before they are assigned to their minor league teams, but once a team claims a player off of waivers they need to keep him on their NHL roster for at least 30 days.

You can catch these players and more on Monarchs opening night, Saturday October 19th at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester, N.H.
