Mike Hedden’s second goal of the night, coming at the 5:35 mark of overtime was the winner as the Texas Stars mounted a 3-2 comeback victory over the Oklahoma City Barons in game one of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

The Stars finished 26-points ahead of Oklahoma City in the regular season, but the Barons would not back down as they put on a show for hometown fans Wednesday evening.

Austin Fyten got the Barons on the board just 1:49 into the second period for a 1-0 lead. Darnell Nurse – the first round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2013 – would notch his first pro assist on the play.

Winger Curtis Hamilton would then add to the lead just over 5-minutes later as he beat Stars' netminder Cristopher Nilstorp to make it 2-0.

The Stars would answer 7-minutes later as Derek Meech netted his first of the post-season on the powerplay to cut the lead in half after 40-minutes of play.

In the third, Mike Hedden would tally his first of the playoffs as he sent a puck past Barons' netminder Richard Bachman to tie the game at 2. Hedden’s marker in overtime would complete the comeback for the Stars as they scored 3-unanswered goals for the victory.

Nilstorp would stop 26 of 28 shots in the win, as Bachman turned aside 31 in a losing effort.

Game two of the series goes Saturday night in Oklahoma.
