After a crowded schedule on Saturday which say 14-different games being played throughout the American Hockey League, things slowed down on Sunday as only 6-games were played.


Here is your quick recap for the games on October 27th, 2013.



Toronto Marlies 3 – Hamilton Bulldogs 2


Jerry D’Amigo’s third period goal into an empty need stood up to be the winner as the Toronto Marlies beat the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2 to win the battle of Ontario. Newly acquired Jerred Smithson got the Marlies on the board with his first of the season just 24 seconds into the game. Robert Mayer stopped 23 shots in a losing cause for the Bulldogs. Meanwhile, Drew MacIntyre stopped 20 in the victory.



Providence Bruins 5 – St. John’s IceCaps 2


The Bruins used a 3-goal third period to power past the IceCaps with a 5-2 victory. Matt Fraser continued his goal scoring tear against the IceCaps as he found the back of the net twice on Sunday. Eric O’Dell scored for the IceCaps in the game, the last time these two clubs met, O’Dell tallied a hat trick, with the goal Sunday, O’Dell now has 5 on the season. IceCaps goalie Eddie Pasquale stopped 33 in the loss, Niklas Svedberg turned aside 32 for the win.



Charlotte Checkers 5 – Chicago Wolves 0


For the second time in three games, the Charlotte Checkers combined goal scoring and great goaltending to pick up their second 5-0 victory this weekend, this time against the Chicago Wolves. Chris Terry’s goal half way through the second was enough to secure the win for Charlotte. Jake Allen allowed 5 goals on 32 shots, meanwhile John Muse stopped 27 for the shutout victory.



Hershey Bears 4 – Norfolk Admirals 2


The Hershey Bears scored three unanswered goals in this one to double up the Norfolk Admirals 4-2 on Sunday. Peter LeBlanc’s second goal of the season proved to be the winner in this one with just 8-seconds remaining in the second period. David Leggio stopped 17 shots to pick up the win, meanwhile Igor Bobkov turned aside 34 shots in a losing cause.



Rockford IceHogs 4 – Texas Stars 2


The Rockford IceHogs rallied to score four unanswered goals, combined with a formidable job by goaltender Antti Rannta to beat the Texas Stars 4-2. Mark McNeill’s 5th goal of the season just over the midway mark of the third period proved to be the winner. Christopher Nilstorp stopped 30 IceHogs shots in the moss, meanwhile Rannta stopped 46 to pick up the win and first star of the game.



Grand Rapids Griffins 3 – Iowa Wild 2


Landon Ferraro tallied a short-handed goal with just under 40 seconds to go in this one to help the Griffins sink the Iowa Wild 3-2 on Sunday. Adam Almquist took an untimely penalty for the Griffins with under 2-minutes to go in the game, putting the Wild on the powerplay. However, this quickly changed as Ferraro come in to beat Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper to pick up the win. Kuemper stopped 23 shots in the game prior to the goal, meanwhile Tom McCollum made 26 saves for the win.
